The Challenge of Reducing Inventory Imbalance and Its Impacts

When I joined the data team at Renner, I was placed in a squad with a strategic objective: to develop a product that optimizes the stock replenishment of stores, facing the challenges of demand forecasting and sales planning.

With the complexity of the data and the particularities of a company with a large operation, I followed the path of a collaborative approach and engagement with stakeholders and technical teams.

Using a Collaborative Approach to Solve Complex Problems

The expectation was to build a solution that not only met the initial scope but was also adaptable and scalable to future needs of the inventory planning team. Additionally, I wanted to engage stakeholders and create a product vision, allowing each design decision to have the maximum strategic impact.

In the Design Studio (Refinement and Validation Method), the final validations confirmed that we were on the right track. We made final adjustments to the flows and functionalities, focusing on a user-centered design adapted to technical requirements. The solution was fine-tuned to enhance the planning experience with real-time data, enabling more assertive decision-making.

The implementation of the new product brought benefits such as the improvement of accuracy and efficiency in the supply processes at Renner stores.

This project showed me the importance of collaborative design in complex data products and highlighted the impact of a solution well-aligned with the needs of the business and users.

This case is one of the best examples of how my design process can unite technical complexity and intuitive experience, creating value for the company and for the users.
